Want to shoot a bow.
Want to do archery in a safe environment.
Do you want to have fun, laugh and eat cake.
Somewhere you can learn to shoot safely, under the guidance of our NFAS qualified coaches.
It usually takes six lessons from start to finish.
You will learn the safe way to use a bow for both yourself and everyone else.
The current cost to be coached to the level to take part in an open is broken down between indoor coaching and outdoor coaching/assessment.
Indoor it is currently £5 per session for an adult and £2 for a person 6 years to 16. We do not coach children less than 6 years of age. Equipment will be provided.
Once you have reached a competent level indoors you will be invited to the outdoor session.
The last lesson and your assessment will be outdoors at our woods. This session will take four hours with a break in the middle. It currently costs £12 for an adult and £6 for a child.
If for any reason you don’t pass the assessment you and the coach will go through why you didn’t pass and the way forward.
When you do pass we will go through the paperwork so you can join the NFAS and join the family of archers. The coach will sign your form to say that you are competent with a bow and you can take part in archery competitions. You will receive a certificate and once your membership of the NFAS has arrived, you will be invited to join Ye Olde Delph Bowmen.
Once you are a NFAS member we will help you choose a bow and arrows, continue to coach you (when you request or if you need it) and help you go to your first open shoot.
Our indoor practice happens every Monday and Thursday evenings (except for Bank Holidays) our woodlands are available to you as per our licence.
